A nine-year-old boy has died after being stabbed in Bradford.

Police were called to an address in Rookes Avenue in the Wibsey area just after 1945 GMT on Thursday.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the boy was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary, where he died from his injuries.

The spokesman said a man in his 20s had been arrested on suspicion of murder. Police said inquiries into the death were continuing.

The address on the housing estate has been cordoned off and the police spokesperson said neighbourhood officers were in the area.

His brother stabbed him?

Is that really the state the country is in now?

Very sad thing to have happened, however at least complete failure of the mental health care system means that its fair for all!

I have complete and utter contempt for the mental health services, this is after my own personal experiences.

Care in the Community was a great idea, but it was based on a nicer "communitarian" eutopia than the one we live in.

The mentally ill are truly alone in this country. It's pretty third world.

Until we have dealt with ALL aspects of genuine need in this country, not a bean should go to the EU, Africa, etc.

A part of the problem is that the mentally ill don't have a voice, whilst every spacker is bleating and getting the community modified at huge expense to their needs. rolleyes

They require specialist and separate treatment and this must be met first, before any integration or community cheap position is considered. It's expensive, but so are less necessary things.
