I'm trying to find ideas/companies that do motorsport related trophies, something better than the £15 tin cup that you get from most trophy shops, can anyone sugest and ideas/recommendations? 've had a trawl of the www. but haven't managed to find anything better than the standard tin cup.

Try googling 'acrylic trophies'

Personally I reckon that for the money, one of those clear engraved thingies is better than a cup.

When I raced in the Janspeed Road Saloons Championship, they had etched glasses for race winners/class positions - much nicer than the old cheapo tin trophy:

Glass trophies are a nightmare to deal with. Much too easy for them to get broken if you are taking them into a race environment and out to a podium etc.

For an awards evening it might be less of an issue but I'd advise against glass otherwise.

We used to give two part trophies at Rockingham some years ago, a glass top that stood on a wooden base, I used to hand them over in two parts as otherwise they looked like a single unit and the driver would thrust the trophy up into the air at which point the glass toppled over and smashed! biggrin

Look, if you can't win them fairly you can't just go out and buy some.

To be honest, In the unlikely event that I'd ever be a winner, I'd rather not have a trophy at all. If you have £15 to spend, give a voucher or one of the motorsport suppliers.

Thanks for the pointers, as for vouchers, no the series needs to have trophies at the end of the season. Thanks

Not sure if this is any help. But google Glenway trophies in Leicester. They are on Oakland road!
