I'm browsing 335i Tourings at the moment, and one of things i would really miss from my 1er is the little USB slot into which i shove a memory stick full of music, etc.

I've looked at dozens of ads and none of them seem to have this listed in the spec. Is it standard or packaged with some other option, or is it just that nobody has it, or what?

It amazes me how many people leave this 'essential' option off these cars, especially as it is under £100!

You can retrofit it, but not cheap at all.

If the car has professional Nav you will need to buy an MULF-2 Hi unit, this is the bluetooth/usb module and it £600.
If it has business nav or just a head unit and voice or bluetooth you can buy a kit for around £120 and then get your dealer to activate the usb at around 30mins to 1 hour coding time. Maybe better to find a local garage with autologic to do it for you, cheaper and know more.

Here is a copy of theretrofit guide...

Oh, the other option is a Dension 500, this will give you the same as the USB, costs around £3-500 to buy and just needs you radio coded for a CD changer.
