Folks,

I'd appreciate any advice on ways to possibly solve this issue myself before I phone up the call centre.

Basically my <1yr old Samsung HD box refuses to record anything on Ch.5, so I have to watch The Gadget Show and The Mentalist 'live', which is annoying.

The red light comes on, and it shows up in the planner but when I go to watch the recording (either while it is still recording the show or after it's finished) it refuses to play - it's as if the box as 'hung'.

It only does this with five, and all other functions/recordings/channels are fine. The issue with five recordings only started happening a couple of weeks ago.

The box is running the new EPG if that makes any difference. Signal strength & quality are both strong.

Tried deleting them and re-adding? I've had this happen a few times with five where it doesn't pick it up.
