I switched on, but switched off when I saw the Coren woman. I'm assuming that she is offspring of the late great Alan Coren, but if so her dads humour seems to have died with him.

It's a spoof quiz isn't it? Just a longer sketch from Mitchell & Webb, Robert is going to come out and say "That's Numberwang!"

Oh, it wasn't.

I was half watching (at best) but it seemed to be funny in parts. OH liked it. I'll give it another chance, though it doesn't seem to be up there with e.g. QI.

Are they this desperate to get another HIGNFY/QI? Throw enough ste at the wall and it will stick?
A bad idea poorly executed.

With HIGNFY and Mock the Week etc I'm sure the contestants spend all week thinking up their spontaneous comments, so when you get a show where the cast have to genuinely make things up on their feet it doesn't seem so good.

For Example, it is difficult to make edgy comedic/satirical comments about a story like the Mossad hitmen in Dubai off-the-cuff.

I don't have high hopes for the series as next week's list of guests didn't seem upto the high calibre of Reg, Skinner and the fragrant Coren.

Do you really think it is possible to not hear about news events for a week? If you do you probaly think Mock the Week is unscripted as well.

They deliberately lock the panel away from the news, that the whole point of the program! Did you actually watch it before you made your comment?

Yes, a lack of script (as per MTW) makes for a very poor show.

Just dragged on.

Shame, as I like David Mitchell on some of the other panel shows he does.

I don't mind Ms Coren either but the show was a bit average I thought. Switched back to the curling!

Mock the Week is a rehearsed show, not off the cuff.

I did watch it and the gullible can be made to believe anything they are told even based on 30secs of pre-recorded film of 3 people arriving at a house and putting 3 phones into a case which miraculously has 3 soft foam spaces that perfectly match their 3 randomly sized phones.
