Few questions...
Discussion
Just a few questions really about trackdays (for when I get my license)...
Is there an age limit for trackdays?
Do most insurance companies have a trackday insurance age limit?
How much is the insurance for younger drivers?
What is an open pit lane day?
How much do you generally spend on a track day?
How much are / how good are air field days (in general)?
And are they generally all different days of the week (not just weekends)?
Only wondering as if I get a job I’m considering i may have to substitute race event visits for trackdays (every cloud has a silver lining and all that
)
Thanks!

Is there an age limit for trackdays? NO BUT SOME CIRCUITS INSIST THAT YOU'VE HAD A FULL LICENCE FOR 12 MONTHS.
Do most insurance companies have a trackday insurance age limit?
How much is the insurance for younger drivers? TALK TO MARK AT CCI 01159416184
What is an open pit lane day? AN EVENT WHERE YOU CAN GO ON AND OFF TRACK WHENEVER YOU WANT. THE ALTERNATIVE IS A SESSIONED DAY WHERE YOU WOULD GET 15 OR 20 MINUTES IN EVERY HOUR. OPEN PIT IS FAR MORE POPULAR BUT BE AWARE THAT SOME ORGANISERS BOOK TOO MANY DRIVERS AND SO YOU STILL END UP QUEUING TO GET ON TRACK AS ALL CIRCUITS HAVE A MAXIMUM NUMBER THAT ARE ALLOWED OUT AT ANY ONE TIME.
How much do you generally spend on a track day? DO A SEARCH AS THERE HAS BEEN A RECENT THREAD ON THIS BUT THE ANSWERS VARIED FROM£3-400 TO WELL OVER A GRAND - INCLUDING ALL FUEL, ENTRY COST, TYRES, BRAKES ETC
How much are / how good are air field days (in general)? I MOSTLY JUST DO PROPER CIRCUITS
And are they generally all different days of the week (not just weekends)? YEP

Insurance isn't a requirement on a trackday BTW so you may not want to bother with it, I'd say that well over half of trackday drivers don't have it.Is there an age limit for trackdays? NO BUT SOME CIRCUITS INSIST THAT YOU'VE HAD A FULL LICENCE FOR 12 MONTHS.

and the chances of any contact are very low.
Kieren,
I'm 17 and hopefully doing my first track day around easter time in my dad's Caterham. I would highly recommend that you do an airfield day. It's what my brother did and the chances of stuffing the car are much smaller. The only downside is that if you do stuff it, it will be into someone else's car
