Scrated wheel arch on metal post

I scrated my wheel arch on a metal post in a multi story the other day.

Ive got a special colouring pen that matches the colour of the car. How should I prepare the area before use. I was thinking of some sort of sanding?

Start by trying this 'magic pen' on a bit of the damage to see just how well it matches & how invisible it will be.
I suspect you are going to be disappointed.

What you want to do is fill the scratches with the touch up paint, sand it flat, then polish it all to shine again.

You need to make sure its really clean before you start.
