Can't stop giggling....
Discussion
Picked up my new Chimaera yesterday from Racetech in Sonning Common - a '97 4.0 deep red and an absolute beauty! Already knocked up nearly 400 miles!!! (anybody have any techniques to fill it up with fuel quicker?!! It takes forever!)
Thanks for the guidance from you all, the 'bible' arrived a few days ago too which I'm sure will come in handy when we drive to Tuscany in the Summer!
I know everyone ends up saying the same thing when they first get one, but I cannot stop smiling or giggling like a schoolgirl! This is the most fun I've had in a car ever! Give me a wave if you see a P reg dark red Chim flying around anywhere from Milton Keynes to Cornwall.........

filling ups not the problem its slowing the consumption you need to worry about. then again i dont care anyway. congrats on the car. cant wait to get my griff back next week
have fun
thanx, I'll try that method. I think today will be my first and last drive to london for a while - sitting in traffic is no place for a TVR!
Also, on a slightly stranger note - casting my mind back to being a child, the mere thought of seeing a sports car was exciting enough - and if I saw one I was more than pleased to say the least. You can imagine my surprise when I drove past some school kids just off Acton High Road in London when they shouted "TVR"S ARE S*&T YOU"RE A WAN&%*ER"
Im not 30 yet, but still I find myself saying " huh, the youth of today...."

I'd take it as a good sign that they've noticed. Most of 'em are so lazy they don't have ambitions (other than sponging off the state). An insult must have taken a lot of efort (especially if you hear it over the exhaust). Translated it means "great car mate, I'd love to have one, but I'm a brain-dead a
hole who'd be lucky to hold down a job at McDonald's"

hole who'd be lucky to hold down a job at McDonald's"
.In my experience with several makes of cars, other than the angle that the nozzle goes into the car, which varies a lot from car to car (with my MGF you had to hold it almost horizontally), there is quite a variation between cut-off levels due to splash back and delivery rate of the fuel (i.e. how fast it actually comes down the pipe). This varies not only from garage to garage but even from pump to pump on
the same forecourt. Just try several pumps and find a
"favourite" and make a mental note of the useless ones to avoid.
