Has anyone done a driver training day with either www.drivertuition.com with Mike Cooper or www.edge-se.com? Alternatively is there anyone else out their that can be recommended? I know it is a more general question but I thought I would ask my fellow Lotus owners. Any feedback very welcome.

Are you looking for fast driving training? I haven't done this (yet) myself but a mate did a day with Andy Walsh at carlimits.com and said it was brilliant.

im afraid i havnt used those

but you cant go wrong with www.carlimits.com - ive done many days with Andy over the years smile

if you want advanced road training, he will do that

limit training on the airfield is the standard days he does

and if you want on track training on a trackday etc, then book him for that too

CAT Driver training at Millbrook, fantastic. Lotus Driver Training as you get to train on their test track in their cars.

Question about a car limits day - how much does it take off your tyres? My rear AD07s are down to the wear bands ( ie 1.6mm tread) so my thought was to do a training day or a track day before MOT due 17 march and then change the tyres. But I live maybe 200 miles from north weald so I dont want to find myself stuck in Essex with tyres down to the canvas.

Is this likely?

You will go through at least 1mm on a Walshy day

I doubt you'll go down to the canvas but you will go below the limit bands. If it's a heavy car then it will certainly suffer - a friend had to stop half way through the day as he destroyed his tyres on a DB7 Vantage but in a Lotus you will be fine. However, bear in mind you'll have 200 miles to travel back on illegal tyres! How about finding a fitting station round the corner from N/Weald and heading there once the day is over for the new set to drive home on?

IIRC, one of the mobile Tyre suppliers will come out to North Wield at the end of the day and replace your tyres prior to you leaving.
You just need to book them in for a specific time.

Yes Car Limits is the standard reply, but consider Don Palmers coaching days.

FWIW, I noticed Car Limits have referrals to a few nearby shops to fit tyres after the event.
