1996 Porsche 911 GT1 Road Car #WPOZZZ99ZVS396001
White with Black Hide. This car is one of only 2 pre-production prototype
road cars built with the 1996 Le Mans Body styling. ( A series of twenty
customer cars were later built with the 1997 Le Mans styling).
This pre-production car was the one used for road tests carried out by
various journalists, and as a demonstration car for customers. It has been
thoroughly rebuilt in preparation for sale.
The 1996 prototype cars were not fitted with air conditining or openable
side windows.
The car is road legal in the European Community, but was not built to
comply to North America certification requirements.

I thought 001 was the gforce race car that was for sale for the last 2 yrs.
Also a lot of the road /customer cars were converted back to race cars,by the factory because demand was quite heavy for race cars.
There is also a couple of late gt1 cars that used the 996 tub.
I had a look at the car in the autosalon show room, but to much money,£650,000.They are worth a visit,if your ever near stuttgart, only 1 hour on down the road.
