Hi you lot

New to this site and hope it will prove to be a good site for the run upto LM 2010

We have successfully found the handcuff keys from the 08 race and this year embark yet again up on Le Sarthe

10 lads with the IQ of a carrot cannot wait for this years festivities to begin,

For the eleventh year we are making the annual trek to the place that has that wierd please never let me go there again because it just PISSED down a lot and i can't really remember anything so maybe i should have just gone to our local for five days and not told the wife, but the passion of Le Mans normally returns about a week after getting home.

Gone for a different approach this year a hotel (like to know everyones thoughts on that one)

So chaps and chappesis nice to post my first topic and just checking that the geography of the champagne tent is not going to trip me up on our return and is still in the village

Look forward to your comments

Welcome - some half decent Le Mans nuggets on here, just avoid any thread that contains the following words in the same sentance; "Porsche" "Owners" "Club" + "Le Mans" and you'll generally avoid the droll.

Talking of the champagne tent at LM, does anyone remember the corking incident of (2006 ? I think)
A short frechman was driving his peugeot (what else ?) on the service road between the 2 champagne tents with his windows open. He sounded his horn and someone, just one person from the crowd threw a champagne cork which gently hit him on the side of his head. The crowd cheered but he was not impressed and shouted someting in french at the crowd. Of course, all this did was to make everyone laugh and a few more threw a cork at him. His response, instead of joining in with the fun or driving off/putting his window up etc, was to get out of his car and from the boot he pulled out a baseball bat and threatened the now hysterical crowd who all, and I mean all, threw a cork at him. He was pelted back into his car and drove off followed by more corks. This was not a yob moment, it was very funny and meant as a joke and bit of fun but the frenchman must have been having a bad day.

Does anyone have any footage of this or a photo as it happened so fast we never thought of filming it.
