SkyHD and moving home
Discussion
Any satellite installer can fit a sky dish & run cabling, you'll also probably need telephone extensions put in/ or buy DIY extensions. (do sky do a wireless phone line unit now?)
Only thing is the cancel then re-sign-up as a new customer means you'll get very much discounted rates for a least the first two sky boxes IIRC which no other contractor can match;)

Cancel your current contract.
Sign up as a new customer via Quidco.
Works out cheaper that moving your contract and you get a new box.
I was going to do this but when I spoke to Sky they told me as an existing long term customer I could have a free move and a free HD box as well as free multiroom. Sign up as a new customer via Quidco.

So it's worth checking this first before going through the rigmarole of re-applying. Asked for an install in the new house on Tuesday, the bloke was there fitting the new dish on Saturday morning, all done now!

They're currently offering free hd box & set up for new customers, so nothing to lose.

(Or Lastminute.com which I use a fair bit. Or O2 Broadband which I used recently. Or in fact any retailer I've used via Quidco!)
Just had the installers around for SkyHD install.
Yes, cancel and get the new box + "intro" deals.
Telephone line is necessary according to their blurb, but when they arrive they'll do the install regardless and give you 6-8 weeks to drop a telephone line in place, if you fail to do that (and they follow up) they'll charge you 30quid or something for a manual "authentication" or something like that.
There's 2 feeds required for HD, installer hopped up and split feed and drilled me some nice holes. Didn't know that was going to happen.
SkyHD for regular TV is well, a bit disappointing IMO.
For footy and mobies maybe its worth it.
