Soon to be moving and new house has dish etc. so about time I tried Sky for a year.

Anyway, there is option of Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 (or both) but what is the difference?

I'd mainly be wanting to watch Premier league footy, is this all on Sky Sports 1? or a mixture of the two?

Also like to see some motor racing and American football and maybe some cricket (20/20 1 day etc. but not bothered about 5 day test matches). That said, the footy is the priority and if it's all on SP1 then probably won't bother with SP2 and save some money.

Also, can you add and take away the sports channels on a monthly basis?

Premier League footy is always Sky Sports 1 as far as i know.

As for Motorsports it's still a bit confused to what Sky will be showing. NASCAR is currently a 1hr highlights show on SS3 on Monday evenings and i have no idea if they're doing Indycar or whatever it's called this week.

WTCC/IRC and Superbikes are on Eurosport whilst WRC is on Motors TV both of which are in the News & Events pack (£1 extra per month)

Taking all the Sky Sports channels will cost you £18 per month and as long as you maintain a basic subscription for the 12 month contract you can add/drop Premium Channels as & when you like. Channels can be added via the website but they like you to call to drop them.....however using the "Contact Us" e-mail link on the Sky site works too wink

Thanks, I always thought they spread the PL matches over the two channels (to get more people to sign up for both) so good to know.

Right, so I can have, say, sports 1 for a couple of months then drop them? Or swap for movies for the summer then back to sports when the footy season starts again. If I don't watch either much I can decide to drop both and go back to the normal packages?

I know from my current provider (Virgin) that I can change my package no probs but have to take out new 12 month contract when I do.

What I don't want to do is take out the costly channels, find out I don't watch enough to do them justice but then no be able to cancel them and me lumbered with the extra cost etc.

Also, what is the difference between movies 1 and movies 2?

Sky Sports 2 shows a few Champions League games though.

I think the best Movies channels are Premier, Comedy and Action. I don't really watch any other Sky Movies channels.

You can chop & change the premium channels to suit yourself, but be prepared to be convinced that you can't do without them if you call up to drop them wink

I can't remember if there's a 30 day minimum on the premium channels but the only 12 month contract applies to the basic (£18 per month) subscritpion.

I haven't got a clue about the Movie channels biggrin

I ma sure I have seen some EPL on SS2 as well, usually when something big and non-football on SS1

would add sky indie to that movie channel list
