MPs’ travel and expenses for CoE and WEU meetings last year cost the British taxpayer £830,175 – an average of £23,060 for each of the 36 MPs and peers. Britain’s current CoE leader is John Prescott.
Good to see we have such a cultured individual involved....

Could somebody please remind me, who are the people currently jabbering on about the dangers of binge drinking and wanting to put up the price of booze to stop it.........................

I guess the ruling classes have access to as much as they like, the middle classes as much as they like within a set number of units and the worker drones to a set maximum per day...............let’s all go on a soma holiday as its obviously a brave new world

Yep, another shining example of the basic lefty slag.

article said:
Mr Cunliffe said Mr Etherington’s behaviour at the dinner ten years ago enraged the delegation leader, senior Labour MP Terry Davis, and wrecked his hopes of winning the post of Secretary General of the Council of Europe for the UK. He had to wait another five years to get the job.
So not exactly 'wrecked' then.

article said:
‘Terry was so upset,’ said Mr Cunliffe. ‘His reply was mainly bad language. Bill understood what he had done.’
What, 10 minutes on the naughty step?

I very much doubt anything has changed.

Tebbit talked a lot of sense on R4's Any Questions - "is New Labia dead? My goodness, it ought to be."

Socialists are, as a result of human nature, almost invariably hypocrites.
