Glasgow city centre roadworks road closure

This is a good reason to avoid city centre It the bit round the church onto George square:-
West George Street (Ward 10) Dates: From 0001hrs on Monday 22nd February until Monday 8th March 2010 (approx).
Diversions: Via West Nile Street, Cowcaddens Road and North Hanover Street. Buses and taxis can use West Nile Street, Killermont Street and North Hanover Street.
Description: Scotland Gas Networks are installing a gas main in West George Street from West Nile Street to George Square. It will therefore be necessary to completely close West George Street between West Nile Street and George Square. Local access will be maintained, including to the taxi rank at Dundas Street for Queen Street Station. West George Street between Buchanan Street and George Square will operate 2 way for the duration of this closure. Delays are expected, especially at peak times.
