Aussy flights from the UK

Anyone have any tips on getting cheap flights from the UK to Aus. Want to just go backpacking for 6 weeks on my tod at the end of march for 6 weeks.

Could do with getting cheap flights?

Any tips appreciated

Depending on which way you want to stop I'd recommend Emirates, Singapore or Air New Zealand for quality of service and decent price too.

Some friends have done this recently and got cheap flights by flying via Dubai or China. Frankly it's such a nightmare flight I'd rather pay a little bit more for comfort but backpacker I am not!
