Hi Guys been out again attempting some better pictures of my car, and since it was so clean and lovely I went out yesterday to see what I could come up with using my two flashguns. These are the best ones. biggrin

If I a had to criticise them myself, I would say the back of the car is not lit properly in any of them, and the interior has caught a lot of the light and is distracting. But I can't seem to be able to light the back of the car properly without the the side of the car becoming dark. There must be a way to do it using only two flashguns, confused

What do you think of them?

I think where the light has hit it's good.

you've picked a hard 'pose' for only two speedlights. side on/front on are easier to light with small powered flash guns.

Have you thought about a polarizer? It doesn't look to me like one was used due to the reflections.

The specular highlights are well controlled.

Regards,

Matt.

I did do some side on and head on shots, but I thought they were just dull, and didn't exactly flatter the car either rolleyes.

And I did use a polariser for all of these, stopped the reflection from the windscreen and some of the bonnet.

My appologies on the CPOL. It's not uncommon when photographing a car at this angle to set the CPOL to one side of the car then the other and combine the shots.

You seem a little narked at my comments, I have tried to be constructive so I appologise if you have taken it any other way.

Oh no no, I'm not narked in any way, sorry, i didn't read my own comment back to myself. I am really grateful for your criticism I wouldn't have put them here if I thought everyone would just say they were nice.

On the subject of polariser I hadn't realised that people often combined two images with two different aspects polarised. I'll bring my tripod next time and try it. Thanks for the tip.

Sorry for any misunderstanding.

No harm done. It's always so hard to tell with text!

Tell me about it, the number of emails/texts that I have sent/received over the years that have been misunderstood, and the time taken to convince others that they were not meant in the way they were perceived. At least the smilies are of some assistance biggrin
