I used an AutoGlym convertible pack a few years ago. It contained a hard sponge thing, the cleaner and a water proofer. Was very good and made a real difference to the appearance of the roof.

You need to clean the roof then protect it so that it will not go streaky.
The best product on the market is Renovo

+1, Renovo is honestly the best product available (a bit costly though)

In regard to Auto Glym, I have used it a few times on my cabriolet and doesn't work very well.

I use autoglym cleaner with the sponge supplied, plenty of clean water until it runs clear, allow to dry then spray with scotchgard 'exterior' fabric clothing spray available in all good Robert Dyas's for around £5 per tin, 1 tin did a boxster or a Z4 roof twice, really waterproof and much better than any ive used before although ive not tried the renovo i must add..............

Renovo make both a cleaner and a protector. Buy both and away you go.

i think the main question is, is it warm enough to get the roof down yet? im worried i'll look like a ponce, its sunny alright...but still pretty nippy!
