Hi,

I've just bought a Dension 500 to fit to my M5, I was going to have a go myself but gave up when I had to cut into the power connections for the CDC. Don't like cutting wires!

So I decided to put it all back together and there's a tiny plug going to the CDC that has a 4 pin connector on with 2 wires attached and then the 2 fibre optic cables. I can't remember which cable goes where for the power and negative? It's a 4 pin connector and there's a brown wire and also a red wire with a brown stripe on it. Does anybody know which one goes to which pin number?

I put everything back together (without the CDC) and switched the car on, now I have no sound at all from anything, reverse parking sensors, ice warning etc, complete silence!! Oh F**K.

OK, I realise I have no sound from anything as I've broken the fibre option loop by leaving the CDC disconnected. So if somebody can give me the pin outs for the power and negative it should all work again!!

Thanks

I can post the pin-outs tomorrow when i'm at work if nobody beats me to it.

Or you could use a multimeter to find the earth pin of the CDC, the earth pin will be directly connected to the CDC chassis. (Only pin 1 and 2 are used if I remember)

I said not to try it! I got charged £70 to fit mine, it's not worth the hassle.

I know!!! I actually sorted it myself in the end though, quite satisfying to get it done. I will listen next time though :-)
