Does anyone know where the bluetooth module is on an 2005 E46 M3 cab, I don't have the code to enable it, and I've been told it's on the module..!!!

Hmm in the coupe you'd find it in the boot ontop of the CD changer \ SAT-NAV

You have to remove the trim panel to get to it and then the code is on a sticker on the unit.

However sometimes the sticker is on the side of the unit that faces the bodywork so you have to unbolt it to see the code.

I don't remember if the cab is the same

I've removed all the trim, and found three units, CD, DVD and another, couldn't see any numbers on it, it was the same size as the CD, where is the TV unit?

Have you checked its not written on one of the books/manuals you got with the car? Sounds a bitobvious perhaps, but I think mine is even written in the service book.

I've had a good look through and can't find anything, I'm not even sure what the module looks like!

Ok the bluetooth module is a long silver box about 15cm long and 8cm wide - its bolted to the top of the unit containing the CD changer etc

All sorted, found the module on the back of the rear passengers seat in the boot, found the code, couldn't get it pair, I thought that the memory could be full so I had to, "man up" and read the instructions to clear the memory. All working fine now

Bit of a thread resurrection - I too, am unable to locate the passkey for Bluetooth pairing. I don't have the phone manual frown

I'm pretty certain I've found the unit which should have a sticker displaying the code, but it doesn't.

It's the silver box on top of the CD changer, yeah?

Is this a trip to the dealers?

I recently went through this on my 05 E46 M3 cab.

As you stand behind your car facing into the boot, the bluetooth module (on my car at least) is at the very back of the boot just off centre to the left behind the interior trim panel. The sticker with the 4 digit code was thoughtfully placed underneath the unit so the only way to read it was to remove the unit itself, use a mirror, or peel the sticker off. I chose the latter method (then stuck it back)

Don't get side tracked with all the modules on the left around the CD changer, it's not located there.

My sticker was on the narrow side facing outwards, so you really needed to unbolt it to see it.

Likewise

You need to unbold and remove the module to really get at the passkey sticker.

Cheers for that. It's going to have to wait until Sunday so I can have a play in daylight.

another way of your sticker is missing is with the resler USB ibus interface. I have on for sale in the private adverts, you can use this to enable voice control for nav etc which is stored on the bluetooth module but deactivated by default from BMW

from the iBUS you can see your bluetooth pairing code I believe and also kick it into pairing mode
