Seems to dwell on cost and not investigate performance....

True. There is an interesting comparision in last weeks Autocar with a Ferrari 355. It did say that the Lotus would leave it for dead on any twisty bit of road, but even as a died in the wool Lotus fan, still a tough choice.

I agree, right up to the point of a service or new tyres....

Yup, service on my 355 was just under £5k this year for belts, a clutch and a new radiator.... don't think I spent that much on my 240r in the 3 years I owned it including about 8000 miles on track... The 355 is nice but very very different to the Lotus... really you need both!

Off topic me and Mrs Boggy are staying in Poole Saturday and Sunday 3rd/4th April, is anyone about for a Beer either Saturday or Sunday

My son had a 355 and even with my less skillful driving I was able to comfortably able to keep him at bay in the S1 Exige . Hope he does not read this ! But to be fair when he jumped into the Exige he was almost able to hang on to a factory driver in a 2-11 at Silverstone ! Mega more quick than I am ever likely to be ( not good English but I think you will get the drift - sideways more than not in the corners .
Details of Poole would be helpfull as I may be able to get a day pass from the trouble and strife.
