good time to sell my Tuscan 2 S conv?

I'm looking for a bit of advice - I have an '06 tuscan 2 S convertible, which I love to bits, but I just don't get much chance to use it, so I'm thinking of selling the car. I had planned to wait until the weather warms up a bit and start advertising it - but do you think that the latest TVR announcement is going to have any effect on residual values? (I guess it's a different question if anything is actually going to happen following the announcements...)
Also, does anyone have any thoughts on what I should price the car at - it's in pretty much perfect condition and 15k miles, I've owned it from new. I see there is a "new" one for sale at £44k (with no takers for a while), and some non-S or non-conv are mid 20s - would it be realistic to hope for £30k?

Had a chat the other day with TVR barnet,my tuscan 2 has similar miles but a non S.
He told me mine is worth 30k,but that was a dealer selling the car so i would expect
about 27.5k,if the S version is worth another 2.5k then 30k would be a good start.
There are not many tuscan2 conv for sale so get in early before everone else has
the same idea!!!

I think you daft to consider selling it...unless you really need the money...I've spent a lot on mine but got a valuation of £40k for writeoff purposes...I know I'll never get that on a private sale (but not bothered since I've no intention of selling). You tell me another car that has kept its value in the last 4 years aswell as yours ??? Cars don't appreciate in value, but for what you are losing it's bloody good value in my book (even if you only polish it and look at it in a garage

Sagari have traditionally been worth more, they seem to have aquired the status of 'the ultimate TVR'.
Unfortunate for me because I swapped my Sagaris for a Tuscan S. However I can't be alone in knowing that they're close to identical under the body and that the Tuscan offers an even better driving experience by virtue of being able to take the roof off. That's the main reason I swapped for a Tuscan. That and the fact that the tuscan bonnet is so hard to remove I figure the wind would have a real job removing one at high speed. The Sagaris bonnet didn't inspire much confidence at high speed.
However the prices of late Tuscan 2S's and Tuscan Convertibles seemed to have firmed up last year. There was a red car for sale recently at HHC asking £39k (ie top dollar for a Sagaris) which I thought was encouraging. I'm not sure how they could justify the extra cost when good Tuscan 2s can be found for £10k less. But naturally I'm all for it! As for the news of TVR restarting I doubt it will have a negative effect on prices. Just as the 'new' cars for sale made up of left over parts by racing green haven't had much effect. If anything the work Racing Green and TVR Power have done on the speed six has given buyers a bit more confidence.
But the problem we have is this, as my bro keeps telling me, once I've sold my car I can never get another one like it. My Sagaris was extremely well looked after by me but even if I found it again it just isn't the same car anymore. There's just no way of knowing for sure what's happened to it. I'm fortunate to be able to own one of the last TVRs since new and my car is actually better now than it was in 2006. It would take more than most would be willing to pay for it to prize it from me. But in absolutely pristine condition and with fewer than 4000 miles on the clock I'd like to think it would be worth £35k to someone.
£30k for a top notch 'Vert isn't unreasonable at all.

It has been a while since I came through the TVR forums and have decided to sell the Tuscan convertible too.
It has been a very hard choice to make for me and agree with you very whole heartedly, that I will never be able to get one like it again. That is the one thing which has stopped me for so long...but unfortunately sometimes other things have to take priority.

Actually £27k was a very fair offer for a non-S with high mileage.
I havnt got high mileage but I thought it was a reasonable offer all the same and consideres that they would be adding their mark up. (would have given me a tidy profit on my purchase price from last year as well).Actually £27k was a very fair offer for a non-S with high mileage.

Because there are so few its difficult to judge any difference in price between the 3,6 4,0 and 4,0S models anyway but I think any of the above models should be from 25k upwards towards 35k.

thanks Keith - I wasnt sure where to pitch it. very interestingto see HHC want £40k for theirs. great to see values are finally heading back up to sensible levels!!!I've just re-priced mine to £35k. Will let you know how it progresses.
