Duke Nukem on Arcade

Just downloaded this, what a blast from the past!

Graphics are a bit shonky now and the women look plain weird, but ive had more fun in 10 minutes on this than alot of full price "modern" games.

I heard the sequel was being created for like 15 yrs, then was canned a few months ago.

Original was awesome though.. Im gonna rip off you heard and $hit down your neck!

If i remember rightly it was canned because 3d realms went under. Pity, i was really looking forward to duke nukem forever, but it seems it has become duke nukem never

Awesome game, i had some great fun...certainly wouldn't mind playing it again...

We had this on another thread ages ago and I bought it off Arcade after being inspired.

SO sad how I still remembered all the secret areas for the first couple of levels.

Yeah can play through on the single player just as you did in the old days.

yeah loads of secret areas - still so much fun.

if only it was on ps3. its about the only old game i still like playing.

duke nukem forever could have been a great game. iirc the graphics shown in screenshots of it years ago would still be suitable nowadays.

edit: - just looked. the 1999 screenshots looked crap. and the 2007 was just one pic of duke himself.

It was a cool game! I remember back Duke Nukem was a side scrolling platform game on the PC, (before it went to a FPS) the first game was shareware, you had to buy the later ones, anyone remember those?

The FPS was shareware too. here was an impressively large playable demo (larger than most games now), which you had to pay for to finish.

Far far more complicated than that.

3d Realms still exist I believe and talk is that the publisher who paid the adavance my demand the itellectual property (the work that has been done already) and pass it too another developer to finish off.

It's a long running saga bu they have alot of info on The Escapist

Spent hours on that game. Probably still got the disk for it somewhere
