STI PPP vs WR1

Just a quick few questions, apart from having a revised ecu and a different exhaust how do they differ. Also the difference in bhp is about 15 if im correct, so how does the 0-60 drop so dramatically from 4.6 to 4.2
The WR1 was a limited edition. It has a special front spoiler with driving lights, is the only one which came in Icelle blue as standard and has different alloys. I reckon they must have done something with the gear ratios in the WR1 to give it a better 0-60 time as well.Edited by Syndrome on Tuesday 23 February 00:34

I've heard rumours that they actually have the twin scroll turbo and more relative to the jdm spec, but some how i dont believe it.
They don't have the twin scroll turbo fitted and are not running a JDM map either (AFAIK).Edited by Syndrome on Tuesday 23 February 03:29
The performance of both cars is identical.
The WR1 is a limited run special edition STi with all of the Prodrive goodies included and a DCCD Gearbox which was later standard on the MY05 model Sti.
Both the STi PPP and the WR1 share the same IHI VF35 Turbo, The same Exhaust System, Same Engine.
I cant recall if the ECU are identical, as the DCCD Gearbox needed a control system. I cant remember if this was contained within the ECU or if a seperate DCCd controller was fitted.

DCCD is a seperate issue, has it's own ECU.
Power wise there is a difference between PPP and the WR1. Like the Spec C's, S202/3/4 the WR1 has around 320-330bhp whereas the PPP has somewhere around 300bhp (estimated figures as in reality the outputs vary by quite a margin from car to car).
In fact the S203 and 204 make a bit more than the S202 because they have more agressive timing and boost targets, and the S203/204 have much more aggressive AVCS targets across the board. No two cars are identical in their output though with some making more and some less.
PPP mapping doesn't compare to the mapping on the WR1 which is much more specific in what it wants to achieve and is in fact very similar to Japanese factory mapping on the S203/204.
PPP is a one size fits all package that has very rounded mapping (fecking lazy actually). You'll find a dozen WR1's much closer to eachtoher in terms of power outputs than a dozen PPP cars. Some PPP cars have a terrible flat spot too which is more noticeable under certain conditions.
