Hi sorry if covered before, but just had 1 EGR valve failed and yes car was out of warranty. I have read in other forums that you can blank off this valve and never have a problem again.
Now the question is, how hard is it to fit in a Disco 3? What negatives are there?
Thanks
Hans

EGR - exhaust gar recirculation is there to reduce PEAK combustion chamber temps and reduce Nox emissions, this is required for Type Approval and is not tested for at an MoT.

Most (all?) EGR systems only operate at part throttle and disable under WOT (wide open throttle) conditions.

Removing it will do no harm to the engine at all, but don't expect any hp gains.

Only thing to check for is if removing it will cause the ECU to throw a wobbly.

Thanks, I guess the ECU should be ok on a 05 Reg Euro 3 car?
