We're trying to organise a little holiday in Wales next month & we are hoping to take our bikes along for some nice days out.

The only possible snag is our 6 month old boy.
He's a bit too young to put in a child seat & i'm not really keen on him sitting so high up if & when I face plant.

Seeing as we rarely do any road riding I am concidering a trailer.

Are there provisions for fitting a baby carrier (car seat) in them?

As far as i'm aware, they have a small bench seat & 3pt harnesses, so will this be deep enoug to sit the baby carrier on?

This is the sort of thing i'm looking at.

It's not ideal, but was wondering if there are any baby (6-12months) specific trailers I can look at?

We have the Chariot Cougar 2 - there are various accessories available, take a look at the various child comfort accessories at the link. Its about the only trailer I could find that was suitable from new born, and isn't cheap (although make decent money on ebay). I can't recall what else was suitable for 6 months onwards as wasn't really looking for that at the time.

Not sure if the sling or baby supporter work with any other trailer...

Thanks, i'll have a look.

They're deffinately not cheap, by the looks of things. I have found one from a company call Croozer, but that's £400 + an extra £70 for the baby attachment.

I'm still on the look out. Perhaps i'll pop down to Halfords to see what they have in store.

ETA, looking at it, it's the same distributor based in Exeter. Do you mind me asking how much you paid for it?

We bought from here http://www.biketrailershop.com/

I am pretty certain we narrowed it down to Croozer or Chariot, and figured we could get the Chariot from the US for the same price as the Croozer over here.

The Chariot used to use a Weber seat and baby support, which is universal. Anywhere that gets stuff from Amba Marketing (disto for B&M lights / Chariot / Bob trailers / Croozers, etc) will be able to order them.

Chariots are nice and light, and look strong, plus they have suspension. We had a Croozer 737 and a colleague has a 535. They go the fat tyres and built like brick sthouses approach. Either is good. Cheap trailers are junk - they are so flimsy. You can flip a trailer pretty easily if you catch it wrong. A kid in a Croozer would be fine it it flipped. There's a review on the web somewhere where the reviewer did just that with the kid in.

Pic of the weber seat here, but as a Chariot accessory. I know www.dutchbike.co.uk sell them

You'd want the CTS49 and CTS50

Excellent, so the Webber could be adapted to fit. That sounds like it could be good news.

I appreciate what you are saying & at the end of the day, you only get what you pay for.
But, for the amount of usage it will get, I can't justify spending £600 for something that will get little useage (we'll only do the odd trail, maybe 4-5 times per year).
