Any owners of said game out there? What's it like? The free roaming aspect and the cities really appeal to me but I'd like a fair review of it before making a purchase.

It really is a great game but it has limitations and is starting to show its age, I really enjoy the free roam aspect and sometimes can just spend an hour just driving around. The physics don’t and can’t match up to forza 3 even forza 2 but it is very enjoyable and worth a go. Also you mush be able to pick it up for a tenner by now. Format is the usual you compete in races and time trails to earn money to buy cars and property. Picking up girls and taking them for a ride is a nice touch. Look out for the hidden island. Highly recommended but only if you get it cheap.

It's around £8-£9 on Amazon not including postage. Sounds good to me. I used to enjoy the early Need For Speed games and spend ages cruising round.

Good game esp roaming online with mates. I completed it a couple of years ago with my brother's Xbox.

Tempted to start again with my own Xbox but 'racing games' have moved on, namely Forza 3. Anyway it's an old game so should be fairly cheap.

If you combine Forza 3 and Test Drive into one game, that'd be heaven!

Its good for a bit of a laugh, if you dont take it too serious, the graphics are still good given its getting on a bit now. I used to have trouble with being connected/disconnected between servers though, meaning other online cars would mysteriously just vanish or appear from no-where.

Got this for PSP a few years back and enjoyed it. I've still got the demo on the 360 but if I want to free roam, I'll just go on Fujimu Kaido on Forza 3.

I haven't played this game for ages, but I remember the island. I can see it on the map but how do you get to it?

Used to really enjoy blasting around. I sold it in the end as it just got a bit repetitive but it was fun to just get away on the island for a while.

One house in the game is absolutely stunning and I can only dream of being in the position to own it. I don't know if anyone will know the one I mean but I think it was on the West side of the island looking out toward the sea. The house had a complete glass middle part, with a pool that went through. At the back there was a garage the went across the whole width of the house, and had entrances on either side.

It was brilliant.

It's awesome, probably one of the best games for engine sounds. Myself and ih8thisname were on it Sunday. love it.

Oh and when you do get it, add myself or ih8this name as we are the heads of the TDU PH club.

I remember the engine sounds being rather good in that. Personally I still think PGR4 has the very best at the moment.

Money well spent! If it had Forza-esque modifying it would be nigh on perfect in my opinion.

It's a real car lovers game, some of the attention to detail is great.

It's the online free roam that made this game for me....It would be great fun to find a mate and just drive.

Joyful memories of hammering down the motorway on my tuned kawasaki ninja @ 200+ pulling wheelies past my mate in his mclaren. thumbup

I'll need to edit my in game character to give him a grizzly-Adams beard though
