Who on earth is Petronella Wyatt? Her blatant misreprsentation of the facts is a disgrace.

She isn't that far from the truth. Though I'm sure that the lycra brigade will be protesting their innocence and near God-like perfection.

Should be fun.

Daily Mail writer mixes truth and common sense with a huge chunk of their own personal agenda.

It's never happened before...

What a load of self indulgent drivel.

Still, on the upside, if I'm a 'hero of the highway' - I quite like that title - then it must balance out the fact that I am also, according to Petronella Poncenby tt, an 'evil, greedy Jeremy Clarkson fetishist; a killer of the innocent and wrecker of the planet'. Actually, that said, I quite like that title too.

The subtext seems to be:

Daily Mail columnist buys £430 3 speed.
Can't ride very well so almost hits a lot of people.
Takes a taxi home.
Decides the problem is that 'england is not suited to bicycles'.

Yes it's a shame some of her stupid remarks and opinions combine with her own hypocritical behaviour to undermine some of the more sensible points she is making. Par for the course with some Daily Mail columnists I'd say.

The irony of a criminal on a bike stealing her fake handbag should not be lost. Counterfeit goods are abtained exclusively from criminals, whom she would appear to have no scruples about supporting. Clearly her judgment is lacking on more than one count.

How the hell is this journalism?

Stupid horsey looking tt writes a load of bks under the guise of a newsworthy story?

The woman can fk off, if that is how she genuinley feels than i feel sorry for her - i'll maybe keep my eyes open for roaming gangs of bike riding muggers though rolleyes

a pashley for £430? unlikely, hte basket was probably that much on its own! anyway why was She cycling up one way streets in the wrong direction in the first place, is she not aware of the highway code and why is it the rest of the world's fault that she cant ride safely and properly?

The simple fact is that nothing is dangerous, car, bicycle, knife, gun, until its in human hands....

Indeed, wasn't she the woman that had an affair with prominent cyclist Boris Johnson?

I know what Londoners are like in the car, so I don't doubt for a second that happens in the city centre, but I have to say I've never once seen a cyclist run a red out here in the suburbs and it's not something I go in for.

I can appreciate, however, that out here you have to be quite into cycling to justify not taking the car. In the city centre it probably appeals to people as a means of cutting corners and getting places faster, which may attract a rather different mind set.

Love it, anything that pisses her off I want to be a part of!
Perhaps she should tell her Mum to use the green cross code.

I've seen lots and lots jump red lights in sunny Surrey.
One bloke over took me while I was sat at the lights on the Portsmouth Road heading to Kingston.
When the lights changed I caught up with him and asked if he was fking colour blind.

He just sat there with a confused look on his face.
As a matter of interest, did he cross the stop line on Red, or overtake you while you were sat in queue of traffic at the lights? It wasn't that clear from your post. I'm asking because it seems different people have different definitions of "jumping" the lights.

To be fair, I think I've only seen two other cyclists heading in the same direction as me in nine months of on-off cycle commuting. Most people have more sense than to take on the numpties of North London. It's bad enough when you've got a ton and a half of crumple zone around you.

What a silly bh. Still, I've complained to the PCC, and presuming by the fact that the ability to comment on the article has been removed, so will others.

http://www.pcc.org.uk/complaints/form.html

Complaint under section 1 of the code - Accuracy, regarding the bks about presumed blame in a collision with a cyclist.

Girlie buys a retro bike. Wobbles about. Gives up. The end.

One less wobbler clogging up London bike lanes.

Result.

'an inebriated 15-year-old youth who has never been in the saddle, can jump on a bike and wreak havoc on our streets'

ffs, so can a middle aged woman apparently
