Did you buy your X360/PUS3 for a particular game?

I saw in another thread someone mentioning that Test Drive: Unlimited was the reason they bought an Xbox, and then I remembered the game I bought mine for: Rainbow Six: Vegas. I remember downloading a demo on a roommates launch console when I was at uni and absolutely loving it.
October 2006 I took the plunge and spent £280 on a Premium X 360 with GRAW and PGR3, plus an extra controller. I then bought Rainbow Six: Vegas shortly after.
Any specific games you bought the console for?
And can I just say seeing as this is my thread (
) I don't want to hear one person say that they bought a PS3 for GT5, and that it still isn't out yet. Mentioning that you bought a PUS3 in anticipation of GT5 is fine though.

I bought my xb360 I suppose to continue playing halo although at the time of buying it I looked at reviews for games like GTA and made comparisons between the ps3 and xb versions and preferred the xb. I will get a ps3 when I can afford it for GT5 and catch up on some of the platform specific games I've missed out on. I had a Ps1 and still use my Ps2 but I have always waited a few years to buy consoles when the prices have reduced.
I think it was Oblivion that finally persuaded me to bite the bullet and buy a 360 (rather than spend money updating my frankly obsolescent gaming PC).
I bought a PS3 mainly to use as a media centre and Blu-ray player, but also out of a sneaking curiosity as to whether all the hype about MGS4 was warranted. In the event, MGS4 never really grabbed me - I struggled to get to grips with the control system, if I'm honest.

i paid £300 for a core, then 2 wireless controllers at £35 each, wireless headset at £35, remote at £30, PGR3 for £50, 20GB hdd for £69.
It RROD after 11months too!! Ah the joys of launch consoles! Definitely worth it though!
