You dont need to buy a new one when you have companies like this

http://www.gemm4x4.co.uk/

That sell anything and everything you would ever need to build/fix your current Landie .

I had one for my first car back in 2000... sold in 2002, and I've missed it since!!

Every time I've needed to take something to the tip, trailer something, drive through snow (this past couple of winters definitely) or wanted to get deep and dirty, ( hehe ) I've always thought "If I still had my Landy!!"

I was just offered a bentley turbo r in swap for my chimaera, the only way that would be vaguely sensible woud be to sell my 110 td5 defender. there's no way i love it.

I may sell it one day but only becuase i will have bought a newer , less miles , tomb raider stylee one

There are times I have found me owd defender a bit trying (like when I fill the tank) but it just does what I want and has been a good old friend. It's like a big tonka toy and I've never really grown out of toys, if I had the money I'd rebuild it so it was like new.

There is no reason to sell it, because you can always improve/upgrade it in any way you choose, e.g. drop a different engine in, fit snorkel, rock sliders, simexes, underbody protection, roll cage, the list of mods we've done is endless.

We now have a very different vehicle to the farm runabout we bought 8 years ago, but it is the same truck.

The only reason you might sell it, is if you wanted a 110 instead of a 90 or vice-versa, but most people we know would just buy another vehicle. One chap I know has 10 of them, mind you they're not all defenders, he has discos, series 2s and 3s, classic Rangies, triallers etc.

I've had Discos because they are cheap to buy (but expensive to fix), and Series 3s because they are cheap to run (but hard work to drive), but now I have a 90 I'll never go back! It's the best of both worlds.
