So I thought I needed a netbook but after reading the very informative 'Netbook - Talk to me Thread' I realised that I probably need a small laptop. I came across the Acer mentioned above and think it meets my requirements but I have told Acer is feature loaded but poor quality and more likely to break than a Sony/HP/Dell/Samsung. Truth or Urban Legend?

Key requirements are
1. Good price - ideally under 400GBP
2. Light and small but not too small -13.3 in seems perfect to open up and use on the in-flight table on economy class.
3. Good battery that does not burn your legs!
4. Fast start up and general running.
5. Decent wi-fi reception and webcam (I believe you can just get an extra wi-fi antenna if the standard one is weak?)

I uses it when travelling so want something small, lights and easy to pull out at pesky security checks and to use on the plane or whilst waiting at check in etc. I will use it for browsing, Outlook emails, some light spreadsheets and report writing (MS Word) with photos uploaded from my phone. Some Skype use too. As I will be doing a bit more than just browsing I have been led to believe a net book will not cope and will probably blind me/tie my fingers in knots with it miniature proportions.

One other thing - I am based in Greece where price are very high compared with UK. The Acer mentioned in the title sells for 499.00Euros but I am sure can be bought cheaper in UK - Will I have warranty issues if something goes wrong with it?

Spec of laptop below:
Weblink, some text in Greek though

I have the 2950 from a couple of years ago, pleased with the system, would buy another.

13.3 is a good size for internet, films etc.

As with all laptops take the battery life with a pinch of salt. If you are watching a file with screen turned to full brightness then 2.5 hours is nearer the mark.

Won't be watching films but 2.5 hours is not too bad.

I guess notebook batteries don't last as long as netbook batteries because they have more things drawing juice?

How hot does the battery run and is the fan a noisy one on yours?
The model I saw in store was running cool and no noise but it was plugged into the power source - not sure if that makes it run cooler or not?

Don't hear the fan at all, generally mines on a desk so no idea how hot long term but for short periods make legs warm not hot.

Viewing angles of screen good. Keys are starting to mark screen now, but the machine is generally pushed in a bag compressing it so its my fault.
