Wheels on the GTV - Again....
Discussion
Guys,
Just a quick one. GTV is having new tyres and i really really cant decide on wheels. I have 3 sets. One are the original teardrops, i have 16" teledials on there atm and also a set of 147 wheels. The only reason im thinking of ditching the non original wheel is that they need spacers and these are causing a bit of wheel wobbly at speed and under braking...
147 wheels:

156 wheels:

Originals: (not my car as ive never had them fitted)

What does the general Alfa population think?

tbh rick, i was leaning towards the originals. The car came with the 147 wheels on it and the originals off the car. I then bought the Teledials as i couldnt afford 17" GTV fitment teledials. 16"=140 with tyres
17"=500 without tyres.
The only problem i have with the originals is that they have fairly old tyres on them... and im only replacing 2. i think ill give them a go though. Got nothing to loose! Can get them refurbed next week.

I too prefer the original 16s on the P1 GTV, but the 17" teledials on a P2.
Someone mentioned Voodoos, I had them on my first Alfa a 146ti but never seen them on a GTV.
Not the best picture!... The missus and the dog in the background!.. this was at National Alfa Day near Ripon last year... Someone mentioned Voodoos, I had them on my first Alfa a 146ti but never seen them on a GTV.

Personally I love them and they are the correct offset and PCD, as someone else pointed out, the 147 wheels need spacers or the foul the rear suspension....

Yeah, definitely get rid of the Teledials.........
much tread left on the tyres....?
on the fronts there is about an inch of slick on the inside edge... hence me replacing but on the backs there is a fair level of tread left. Pm me if your interested... much tread left on the tyres....?

It ws a good day at NAD @ Ripon.. just up the road from us... were the Alfaowner cars near the Autolusso BBQ in the front of the Red 156!!!

FS, just went to put the originals back on the car only to find the valves are corroded so badly that all 4 need replacing. Lets hope They can change them easy enough at the tyre place... but it means i cant drive the car to the place.. thank FOOK we have a company V70 i can borrow and just take the wheels down there off the car.
Old pics of the Voodoos I had for Reedy156 -

Cheers for that! They really suit the 146... I almost bought a 1998 146 Ti last year, but it was suffering from the normal rear footwell rot... but quiet severe so walked away.... but got the 156 instead so still a happy bunny...http://philipsuttie.fotopic.net/p63530097.html
