Your teams crap signings...
Discussion
Please post which current or past players in your team that are rubbish. Not worth the money. Turkeys. Caused your team to loose significant points home or away
We're talking white elephants, red herrings and complete liabilities.
I'll start:
I nominate this fellow for Arsenal:

An utter liability. "New Tony Adams" my backside.
Single handedly got us a 6-1 drubbing at Old Trafford a few seasons ago.
Nominations and reasons, please.

) in this forum.
I give you "The next Zidane",(
) Bruno Cheyrou

and more recently

Missed some real sitters and helped Liverpool all out of the Champions League with a whimper!

As a Man city Fan it would not be possible to even start as 'tinterweb would implode
But just this lemon from the old days will suffice for now
Steve Daly
Joined: Man City from Wolves in Sept 1979.
Transfer fee: £1.43m
Today he would cost: £28.1m (calculated as a percentage of the record transfer fee, then and now).
There are many, many more

Back in the 80s Hibs signed George Best. He was the best and the worst signing simultaneously.
Don't get me wrong, he played brilliantly, it's just that every other match he was sat in Rutherfords Bar when he should have been getting changed.
Fortunately he was on a paid-as-you-play deal

Think I saw him turn out for Kettering Town in the late 1980s, although we also had Paul "who?" Richardson.Steve Daly

I support Grimsby Town ... we have too many nominations, there isn't enough time for me to list our crap signings. At the minute the worst has to be nick Colgan

Apparantly an international goalkeeper and now our captain.
He signed in the pre-season and our 3 (yes, JUST 3) wins this season have come while he hasn't been in the side.
He doesn't command his area, he doesn't communicate with his team mates, he can't catch, he's caught out by bobbles, he doesn't put his body behind shots, he spills the simplest of catches, he can't distribute the ball, every kick goes to exactly the same place on the pitch (to the left touchline 2' our side of the halfway line.
The second worse is 'big bad' Barry Conoln

Signed on loan at the end of last season and was instrumental in keeping us up, his goals were invaluable. Rumours were that he was sent away from Bratfurt as he couldn't be bothered, apparantly he was turning up to training late (if at all) and hungover, he was spending all of his afternoons p*ssing away his talent. So he came to us, and did well. Then, we signed him on a long contract and he was turning up to training late (if at all) and hungover, he was spending all of his afternoons p*ssing away his talent and when he did play he either didn't look bothered or got himself sent off. A bit of digging sshowed that this seems to be the patern for the whole of his career. He's currently on a season long loan at Chesterfield where he's scored a few goals ... wonder what will happen when they give him a contract??)
These are the 2 that immediately spring to mind, but honestly out of the current shower of s
te playing in the shirts of my beloved club there's probably only a couple who can conssider themselves worthy of being called professional footballers.
