TVR to be built in Germany

hmmmmmmm ... well apart from the fact that 70K gets you a nearly new Aston, aren't they also missing the point? TVR was not only an exciting product, it also reflected everything great about Britain - it was the under-dog constantly snapping at the heels of the competition, with a flair and 'edginess' that reflects the underlying core of being being British. Sure the country went through its period of being too unionistic, and God knows TVR Blackpool suffered from that .... but it was this brilliant and 'edgy' combination with British inventiveness that gave the cars their character. Times have changed - UK PLC is no longer an inefficient, union led country ---- its people deserve better of their business leaders and so-called "industrialists" - those businessmen (and lets fact it ... most of them are foreign) ... should be shot for treason the way they have allowed Britain to be sold off to a load of foreign Johnnies .... and its about time we started to support good, British products that are actually MADE in Britain .... as for a TVR built in Germany and owned by a Russian who thinks nothing of this country I'd like to see how many are sold to British customers ..... dear old Winston Churchhill would return from his grave if he thought a bloody Spitfire was going to built in Germany ... the same stands for TVR!

I am French, come from Strasbourg, just across the bridge lies Germany… I have been living in the UK for over 15 years, I like England (and France, and Germany), I discovered TVR when I moved to England (had newer hear about the brad and my dad is into card and had many sports cars: Porsches, BMW, Alpines, CG (rare car made before Alpine, before it integrated Renault) and other bits and pieces….
Last summer I finally bought my firs TVR (450, 97 Chim) and I love it…
I agree, TVR is a British Brand, but to many people are ranting about being owned by a Russian chap, being made in Germany, etc… As far as I am concerned (and I might make enemies here, but when the company was up for sale, anyone could have bought it… Brits could have bought it, but nobody British did….
Actually, if I am right, none of the British cars manufacturers have been bough by British companies lately, and most have been bough by VW or other German companies…
Maybe people should reflect think about this… They have the capital, they have the balls, and let’s face it, they build good cars… Let’s face it the most famous main stream car brands, the most respected are German: Porsche, Audi, BMW, Mercedes ….
If I am right, Bentley’s not British anymore, Rolls Royce neither, actually, most of the true British car manufacturers are backed by foreign capital…
So the question is: should they all stop producing cars…? Certainly not…
So if a Russian had the ball to buy TVR, goo d on him, at leas someone bough the company, if he wants to produce the cars in Germany, well, I guess it’s his right (and maybe the built quality will go up…?).
Saying so, It would be nice to see the car being made in the UK and be made in Blackpool, but at the end of the day, he is the boss, he decides…
At least there might be chance to see TVRs made again… surely, the most of you would rather see TVRs made in Germany with Russian capital, rather that no TVRs made at all…?
Look on the bright side, most of the F1, even from Italian, German or French team are built in the UK…?
Anyway, before most of you start having a go at me, I am a Frog, I love your country (if I did not, I would leave), I love TVR an even think that the build quality is far from most people say (or most people that do not have TVR say)…. After all, who else make super fast, sexy, fun and different looking cars can be bought for less that £ 10K => TVR!
So long life to TVR, and if it has to be Russian owned German built TVRs, I guess, it will have to be… seams like British owed, British built had it’s days… ;-). What will be, will be…
Remember, most of the football teams you guys support have foreign players, this does not make your team worst, this is just how the cookie crumbles…

I dont mind German owned at all, I dont mind Russian owned.
But it would sit far better with me if, as with Bentley and Rolls Royce (thanks to the Germans), that TVR continued to be made in the UK.
Once it leaves the island then it will no longer be the cult figure it has been all these years.
It will loose part of what made it so loved. The whole Blackpool, not so perfect bla bla bla.
I wont call it best of British but maybe last of British.
I think that having been travelling for 4 weeks now and not having driven my Tuscan is effecting my brain so dont mind my sentiment.

Erm.... The first French documents that refer to Champagne date from 1718. These papers report that the first time this happened was around 20 years earlier (bringing the date to circa 1698). In England however, Sir George Etheredge made mention of sparkling wine as early as 1676.

.... yes, it is good that TVR's "may" be built again, and if its going to done with Russian ownership, built in Germany, then so be it..... but it is not Britsh, built by British engineers and craftsmen, in Britain. British so-cslled businessmen seem mostly intent in farming out manufacturing and jobs to other countries in the search for 'efficiency'. They fail to support the country in which they were born, and the country to which they owe their freedom -- British business men who constantly seel jobs abroad are no more, no less than traitors to Britain, and its about time the country woke up to the fact that its future is being sold abroad to the dertriment of its population

And I thought French sparkling wine is called Champagne because it comes from the French region called.............Champagne.Champagne was British!
Just because the British were supping sparkling wine in 1676 doesnt mean they called it Champagne or can claim the name Champagne unless of course it was imported from a certain area of France.
We probably called it something like Fizzypinkle no doubt.

Idea of the day.
Open a plant in Crewe.
Attract some of the retired or low hours Bentley workers (top craftsmanship) while Bentley are running a bit slow with the economy. Not forgetting all the Rolls Royce people that didnt move to the new RR plant.
Use the Bentley paint shop (very good).
Oh and there are weekly lay offs at the Bombardier plant, (ex Crewe Loco Works) welders, electricians galore.
Life can be so simple.
