Alloys going yellow
Discussion
Dirty alloys is one of my pet hates, and as such the alloys on my car get cleaned at least once a week (maybe more at the moment due to all the rubbish on the roads. I normally wait for the alloys to cool, and then rinse with cold, clean water.
I've notice recently that the leading side of the spokes on the alloys seems to be "yellowing".
Am I doing more harm than good in continually cleaning them, and how do I get rid of the yellowing ??

Hello,
I dealt with this problem on a Vauxhall Vectra recently, the owner noticed the same problem, it won't be anything to do with cleaning them regularly, (unless your using harsh chemicals?)
I simply cleaned as nessessary, and polished the alloys with a mild abbrasive, Autoglyms Super resin polish would probably shift it, its just staining thats all.
Also you could invest in some wheel seal, such as Chemical Guys 'Wheel Guard' or there are others out there to try, these help protect the alloy better from brake dust and the dirt etc.
Hope I've helped mate :-)
