Anyone planning to go? There's a few Rally quattros and Classic Lancias on display and doing demo-runs at Somerley House Park on Saturday too.

I will certainly be heading down to watch a few stages. Always plenty of things to look at down at Somerley House even if it is daylight robbery to park there! Normally a great day out though just hope the weather holds out?.

Note also that unlike previous years there is no Friday night stage in central Bournemouth this year. It's been replaced by a static display on Poole Quay from 6pm Friday night.

How exhilarating...

It's a shame isn't it, it was quite a spectacular event.

I will be going down in my integrale evo with ClubLanciaSport.
We are going to have a mixture of lancia's on our static stand inc Fulvia , Gamma, Monte Carlo and Delta and also have 4 cars taking part in the demo run between stages!

These will be:

Repsol integrale evolutione
Martini integrale evolutione
Martini integrale 8v
Lancia Fulvia This is the actual car featured on Top Gear last Autumn!

All cars are pretty much standard road going cars with some tweaks!!! It's pretty hard to find an ex works or Rally preped lancia these days! However there is an integrale entered so hopefully we can see that one at full chat!

See you there

I was going to take my son along to Somerley for a couple of hours or so. But, the £25 they want is too expensive IMHO !

We had a great day with the Rally quattros, brilliant stuff... Good to use the old girls for what they were built for. Been a while since we've had that number together... Also, a huge thanks to the good folk with the Lancias, (especially the chap who worked for Bosch - top man) there was a rather 'shall we say' enthusiastic scrutineer and we found we were one skid-lid down, so were the Lancia boys, so a quick, borrowing session from each other allowed both groups to go out.thumbup

There were a few exciting moments in the mud, Ray took to the trees with his A1 and Adam buried the start line marshal in 2" of mud... We also struggled to work out where the stage ended, which made life interesting...hehe

Here's some quattro pics, but I didn't get to take many, sorry.

I went yesterday with a friend of mine, and i have to say it was very good.

The quattro demo run was fantastic, the noise the cars made as they went by was of-cause fantastic and drove like they ment it, till one of them spun as we were moving to another area and hit the signs, then another came along and just about missed him and knocking down the signs that were already battered from the first hit.

afterwards once the mess was cleared the Lancias took to the stage, 3 Delta Intergrales and the lovely Fulvia that clarkson drove on top gear, was also good but with much less drama and carnage then the quattros did.

anyway heres some photos to wet you appertite.

More in a bit.

Robert

In the begining there was an empty rally stage, not knowing that it's peace was going to be shattered by one of the greatest rally cars ever made returning for a final crack at what made it great.

and in the words of DCI Gene Gunt, Fire Up The Quattro! Warning very pic heavy.

and two for a certain mr Simmonds

Unfortantly after showing everyone why the quattro was such a legend and when we were going to another angle to carry on filming on my video camera, Ray in the quattro above spun and clipped a tree and one or two advertising signs. walst he was tring to move another A2 quattro was coming and almost had a big crash but luckyly he avoided ray and put the ad signs out of they're missery.

sadly no footage of that as i zoomed a bit too far but heres the damage done to both cars after i inspected them.

3 Delta Intrgrales and Fulviafiends Lovely Fulvia Coupe took to the stage.

Little did i know at the time that when i was taking this photo below, Fulviafiend had left his in-car on and caught me photoing his car!!! OOPS.

A slightly embarased but still happy Robert

And the other part of the line-up

Six lining up for the Special Stage

It was a gravel/mud standing start... Tim launching away...

Andy away...

Ray grit blasting the starter...

Derek and Rose away...

Then me and Booty...

Andy on the second run...

Adam on the second run...

Derek on the second run...

Ray re-arranging the furniture...

Me and Booty getting a bit of suspension compression...
