This afternoon I was offered a three month contract on a good rate. Any rate after fourteen months out of work would have been nice, but it really is a good rate.

During that time, as light relief from flogging the internet to within an inch of its life looking for work, I have been kept sane by Pistonheads. That is Pistonheads and all the funny, touchy, kind, talented, generous, shirty and irreverent people who sail in her, as I sold everything that wasn't screwed down to make ends meet.

Thanks.

With delicious irony, within twenty four hours, I was not only offered work but also officially declared insolvent (with the inevitable cliff hanger of bankruptcy never very far away). So it will be a long haul back up but at least I have something to work with. Plus, forever the optimist, with work comes the implication that things are improving at last in my industry.

Phew! Back to work on Monday.

I'm glad things are looking up for you. Ph is fab for taking your minds off things sometimes, with random threads and comments.

Yes, I expect with a job I will be required to reduce my input to these hallowed pages.

That particlar kick in the nuts was a fortnight ago. I did two days foc in Manchester to secure a job and there was talk of visiting a site on the following Tuesday. Drove up there on the Monday to be told I wasn't what they were looking for.

Nice.

I should point out that the guy what done it wasn't a Manchunian.
