Hot Cross Buns are served at Easter here with a fishcake inside, harks back to the first settlers here who used to salt the cod to keep it edible... Rather nice actually !

FISH CAKES (Bermuda Style)
3 lbs potatoes
1 lb salted cod fish (boneless)
1 small onion, chopped
1 tsp parsley
1 tsp thyme
1 egg
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tbsp lard
SOAK codfish overnight in clear water.
Cook potatoes, when potatoes are boiling and almost done, add cod-fish (about 5 to 7 mins.), complete cooking together.
Drain off water, add the remaining ingredients and combine with potato masher, mixing well.
Shape into cakes or balls, using ice cream scoop.

Fry in hot oil until brown on all sides, for approximately 10 min

M&S ones, cold, with nothing in them. They're usually moist enough to carry it off – and can only be eaten in twos.

Straight from the packet, dry, after a big training session.

A couple of years ago, the fresh Asda ones were the best. (I was atudent at the time, so didn't try the one from Harrods or Fortnum and Mason's.)

Yum.

This is why i'm fat (.com)

a couple of summers ago my favourite snack was:

Cold hot-crossed bun (as fresh as possible)
Cut in half
Spread clotted cream on both sides
Place Maryland Cookie into clotted cream one side, place other side on top of that.

Eat, ignoring any heart palpatations.
