Well, yesterday after calling this very well known provider of British T'internet they had my service turned off. no letters, no reason why, I had only just paid my last bill (on time) a month ago.... no reason whatsoever!!
All they kept saying was 'you must've asked for it to be turned off or to leave us' !!!

well.. im now after a new provider, im thinking maybe orange with my phone contract... heavy usage for Iplayer, online ps3 action, downloading 'legal' music etc. I cant get cable either

Cheers

Do you have Sky TV? Their BB package is quite reasonable.

That would depend on what service they put you on, if it's connect (IIRC) it is probably the sttist BB in the UK now!

+1 for sky. I've got the phone/net/tv. Not sure what speed the net is but it's very capable for ps3 online and downloading songs etc. thumbup

It's probably because they don't supply chavs with broadband.

Unlucky Paul.

I'd recommend Andrews & Arnold, 1 month contracts and no traffic shaping or anything like that. No doubt there are cheaper options, you can't go far wrong with AA if your usage is low during the day. Personally, I would never go anywhere near the likes of Sky etc.

+1, UK call centres and a "normal" phone number for support.

I wouldn't go with Orange. I'm on their "unlimited" internet and am currently being throttled. They sent me a second letter saying that I went over their fair usage policy of 30gb. Apparently, you are only allowed 5gb/month between the hours of 6pm and 11pm(peak hours I was told). Or you get throttled then cut off. Bearing in mind that I get home at 6.30, 90% of my browsing is at this time. 5GB/month is soon used up on emails/general browsing quite easily.

Hmmmm I am on a 10Gb a month limit and have recently been monitoring my usage as I was interested to find out what I am using, and its over 10Gb a month and heading towards 20Gb. As you say most is evening use, and I am downloading movies music, so it all clocks up quickly.
