Mafia Wars accepting gift - page not loading

Whenever people send me gifts in Mafia Wars via Facebook, the page never loads.
On my home page it says that "X has sent you a gift". Click on the "accept gift", MW attempts to load, page goes blank and says "done" no error messages or anything. When I go back to my messages, the gift message has now disappeared, as if I have successfully accepted it already. Very annoying, especially as I'm trying to build a chop-shop!
Anyone have similar issues or solutions? I'm sure that you used to be able to accept gifts in-game, on the home page but there no longer seems to be any messages.
