Roomba.... anyone else have a pet?
Discussion
I have the Roomba I-robot 240. He is actually called Edward as he is the closest thing i can get to a pet with the hours i work. I have had him for just over a year now and i must say i was sceptical at first (it was bought by my Dad as a christmas present) but he has turned out to be a little hero! I have only had the real hoover (dyson super sucker thing...) out about 4 times in 12 months.
Anyone else a satisfied owner....?

I've got one in the Office, great at keeping a parquet floor clean............. although ours doesnt have a name yet
i might have drawn a face on mine......?(i actually named it after that nobber Robert Patterson from the twilight movies, as Mrs Wizard finds him rather horny.... This did not go down well but stuck!)
My flat is pretty bloody huge and surprisingly he can just about manage the whole thing. Not in the bedroom though, thats shag pile baby!
As first generation tech goes i have been seriously impressed, i see they do lawn mowers too now.....
Got a first generation one and its great! Shame they don't do stairs though! Ours does tiles and laminate downstairs and the carpet upstairs without a problem. Picks up most of the dust and hair that gets about. I do use the Dyson to do in the corners but not very often. Its ideal to set it off when we go to work and come home to a hoovered house just have to remember to pick up the charger cables on the way past!
Not had trouble with the brushes but do spend half hour once a month cleaning it all out as i have long hair and it gets wrapped around the main beater but that happens on any cleaner.
I was a sceptic at first but I picked mine up from fleabay for £30 and thought 'give it a go' but they're great! Even Mr XL was convinced! Will definately will go for an auto docking and timer one when this one dies.
Haven't managed to get the cat to sit on it and ride round yet though!
