Apologies, as i know this will have been covered a million times but i couldnt find anything after a search.

Looking for a reasonably cheap laptop to replace the crappy Dell i have.

£300 budget but could stretch a little bit if it makes much of a difference, suggestions please smile

Thanks,

Woza.

Anymore info in what its needs to have? Are you after a particular screen size?

What are you going to use it for? ... Just general surfing the net and a bit of word processing?

Sorry - should have been a little more specific.

It will be mainly for web browsing and word processing, yes - but still want something relatively powerful (decent processer and ram) monitor size not really an issue - 15" perhaps, decent sized hard drive - no more than 250gb needed.

I am a little put off by Dell as i haven't had the best of luck with them - none that i have ever seem to last very long....

If your not opposed to buying second hand or refurbed there are some right bargains on ebay.

I'm no expert but saw a nice looking one in Aldi last week, it was a Medion. Was brand spankers and only £349.99.

In fact, the only link I can find on the Medion website is on this page where the RRP is £500.

Just bought two of these and they are nicely put together and well specced.

I scoured the net recently because my 5 year old Toshiba had failed. I finally settled upon a Toshiba R530, excellent value at £479 with 4GB of memory and 500GB on the hard drive, it has a 17" screen, its a notebook and has a built in digital Livecam plus it is the easiest thing I have ever used, the writeable capabilities are awesome.
