Does anyone know of a place where they are likely to take an iMac G5 in part exchange against a new iMac or Power Mac for a good price? Do Apple do it themselves?

Nope, and nope.
Sell it here, eBay, any other forum you're a member of with a Sales/Swap section.
Best way really - you'll get the most return on it, as VAT isn't involved.

Depends on your spec - has it got a built-in iSight webcam, how much RAM, etc. There's a few here that might give you an idea of worth: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p471...

I can't access ebay at work - IT Nazi's.

It's an original iMac G5, no isight. Updated to Tiger. 17 inch, 1.6 GHz processor with 1.5GB RAM and 40GB Hard drive, bluetooth wireless keyboard and mouse. Any ideas?

Currently looking at the 27inch iMac.

Have a look at www.wesellmac.com, see what they're charging.

I sold my 1st Ed 20" iMac CD recently for £350 on a local forum - with 3 members all vying for it - probably should've asked £400, but it was exactly 4 yo on the date it was picked up, and similar iMacs on eBay with starting prices of £300 hadn't even had one bid put against them!
So ultimately, the price is a mix of what you want, and what someone else is prepared to pay.
Just got the replacement 21.5" 'basic', and it's a peach of a machine.

Whoa, hold on a sec....who the hell is that bird with the red top?
Regarding the forum, you're not based in NI, so it might be a bit pointless - but nonetheless, http://www.reallymeansounds.com/forum/general-sale...
