I am hoping this may be an earth fault.

This seems to happen mor when the engine is colder but it does seem to happen more now and particularly when the lights are on , so taking load.

When you turn the wipers or air con on the stereo cuts out briefly as though it has lost power, and I also noticed only once out the corner of my eye, the red ignition light came on briefly.

I assume the best place to start would be the connection from the battery to the chassis??

Had a similar problem a few weeks ago...when I switched the lights on the stereo missed a beat and the guages (speedo, rev counter, fuel guage) went off for a few seconds. Turned out to be a faulty connection on one of the multi plugs under the dash....Don't you just love electrical problems...especially intermittant ones!!
