Need some new tyres for the wifes V50. It came with Pirelli P7 on, the fronts have lasted almost three years & 28k miles. I'm quite happy with them, but MPG is a bit lower than expected 41mpg at best on long runs (car is a 2.0d, June 2007).

Anyone had experience with other tyres, or should I just stick another couple of the pirelli on?

my 2006 on P6000 tyres does an indicated 54 mpg on a steady run to work.

More like 49/50 mpg real world

Thanks for info - that's just depressed me. I ordered 2 P7's on Friday, being fitted Monday; at least fuel economy is a lot better than mine!

Bit late now but I don't like the P7s, quite noisy and not that fuel efficient, my winter tyres that are on now I get >50 on a run, but when the P7s go back on that will drop by a few mpg and more road noise. 2.0D powershift 09 MY.

Add in that when the weather is cold and wet the P7s aren't that grippy.

I'd be interested in other options too, anyone on Contis?

I know I posted too late.

Just had more P7's fitted today. I'll have to see whether these are any better than the last set (doubt it though!)
