Steering Worries?

Any advice guys, as recently brought a 330i 2001 83k. Test drove perfectly but now i have used the car on the motorway i have noticed a steering funny. When in a straight line there seems to be a bit of vagueness ie car could be pulling slightly left and you have to over compensate with the steering to rectify or when you get a bit of tramlining (lorry grooves) the front seems to pulling all over the shop. On slower roads or when cornering all feels well.


Any ideas?

It could be something as simple as wronmg tyre pressures which is easy to test. Whilst there have a good look at the tyres, they might me getting a bit worn or might be infact cheap rubber.

If the above are all correct you could check suspension to make sure the dampers/springs are all functioning ok. Also check wheel bolts are tightened to the correct torque setting!

Failing this I'd pop it into a reputatble garage to make sure all is ok.

possible wheel bearing as my e39 did similar, either that or it needs a geo

the front lower suspension arm rear bushes could be shot,this causes steering problems

3 series on sport suspension are very tyre sensitive, Other issues are already mentioned, but rear lower bushes are a common fault, but easy to replace.

This is where i would start, such a common problem
