Remote shutter release D60

After a lockable shutter release for the D60, or one that operates at more than 5m, so can be held down for exposures on bulb setting without gaffer tape being employed, any suggestions?

Just an update, if anyone is after a remote for a D40/50/60, the ML-L3 allows for holding open the shutter for up to 30 minutes using the "bulb" setting which turns into "time" when remote operation is selected. Press once, it's open, press again, it's closed. Not exactly what i was after, but seems to be the only way with the lower end Nikon!

only just seen this and was about to recomend that remote, I use it with my D50, but I have not tried it on bulb yet.

My only complaint is the D50 does not have an IR sensor at the rear.

yeah that is slightly annoying isn't it, neither does the D60, in fact hitting the IR spot can be tricky full stop! Oh well, till I'm rich and can upgrade the camera it'll do for fun and learning

What about the cable release - MC-DC1 iirc. Did you mean you wanted to operate the cam from >5m away? I could never get the ML-L3 to work more than about 6" away...

in the shop they said that one wouldn't lock down - were they telling porkies?

I've got the ML-L3 to operate from about 6m away so far so surpassed expectations LOL

Think they were misguided about the cable, it locks open and doesn't have the 30 minute limit of the ML-L3 so your exposure duration is limited only by battery life. Or boredom, which is what brought to an end my longest single exposure of 63 mins

dammit, should have just gone for that then especially as up till last week I was still using the same bit of gaffer tape and stone you kindly provided me

Oh well, I have a short attention span, I doubt I could go much over 30 mins anyway :P
