alright lads, im thinking of purchasing a Diamond 2

how are they compared to an iPhone or similar?

The HTC Touch Diamond 2 is a discontinued model, and personally, because of this, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. If you want a Windows Mobile phone your best bet would be the HTC HD2 or the recently announced HD Mini.

Failing that, and if you don't mind switching to the Android OS, then there is the HTC Desire or Legend to consider.

Arrghhhh, is that really Windows Mobile?

Run away!!!! Hateful OS and only the HD2 with Windows Mobile works (mainly because they shield you from it). A friend had the a series of HTC Windows phones, ending at the Diamond 1 - threw it away because it was rubbish. Maybe this one is better (new revision), but things have moved on so much and the better HTC phones are Android based.

thanks for the info so far, i get frequently told that iPhones are 'whack' (which is bad, i think) and the HTC are the best of the bunch for touchscreen fun.

any others i should take into account?
