Time for a dumb Question?

Hi

I have just purchased some new Aluminium window supports for my Griff (as the ones on it are black plastic coated by previous owner )

My dumb question is are they anodised originally or just bare aluminium as they have very fine scratches and I wonder if I could polish them out.Does anyone polish their window supports if so what with.

Also they do not have any window felt or what ever it is that the glass runs up and down in ,so does anyone know where to get some from as I presume it got to be a perfect fit.

Bare aluminium.

Polish with your preferred AL polish.

Rubber felt available on the net, try Racetech and Racing Green. If you're prepared to do more digging though I found some from another supplier available on-line cheaper (what a shock) than the TVR independent expert suppliers. I'll try and remember where .. .

I use alusol ally polish come up a treat. For window felt try woolies trim at Market Deeping

Rub the polish off with newspaper - god knows why but it gives you a great finish.

MMMMMMMM,My mate has a Harley and he uses newspaper to polish his ally.Must be something in the ink maybe He swears by it

Whatever yopu do don't use AutoSol, it's too aggressive. I use some stuff called Brilliant that comes in several grades, comes up beautifully and then you can use the newspaper to maintain the shine.

I have used silver polish and agree with buffing up with newspaper...it works a treat! Try "Clever Trevor" for the felt rubber window runners...he is very helpful.
