I'm sure I'm not the only PH'er thats a fan of 6 music - I've heard others rave about how good Craig Charles 'Funk & Soul show' is on a Saturday, and I'm sure I'm not on my own when I say Cerys Matthews has an awesome voice for the radio, let alone a pretty impressive font of knowledge on all things musical...

...and even lauren laverne (after some slight scepticism)has become a staple part of my day.

If the BBC axe 6 Music I'm going to be gutted. For me its the ideal station.

I did have a quick look on the news page but couldnt see any other threads.

I'm gutted to hear this after only finding the station a couple of weeks ago. The Craig Charles Funk and Soul show is a particular favourite, I think they should sack off radio 1 long before ditching this.

the whole point of 6music is that it is not commercially viable - it is *exactly* what the BBC is supposed to be for

don't know what i will listen to instead of lauren lavern and Adam & Joe...

I suppose this means the end of the Bruce Dickinson Rock Show. Very disappointing, given how bad Kerrang Radio has become.

I know that the Adam and Joe show is on hold at the moment, but I hope they still have a slot on BBC radio when they return...

Another thread running here

It's not certain to face the axe, but that shouldn't stop everyone supporting 6Music by joining the Facebook campaign and putting in a complaint to the BBC just in case.

Oh, and at the same time you may as well ask them to get rid of George Lamb as he's the only thing stopping it from being the best radio station on the air at the moment.
